But casting from the PC using Chrome, or VLC, or Airflow (a special purpose caster) wont work as none can find the device. On the modem setup, I can see it sees the Chromecast (as well as my phone). Bell Hub 1000 btw. But as soon as I try to use any PC program, cant find it, even while its sitting connected to the modem. Did a lot more research and looking at things, and have more questions. Does an ethernet connection from PC to the wifi modem count as being on the same network as the stated Chromecast requirements So hardwired network connection. From what Ive read, some people have no problems, others have similar issues to me (the hit or miss issue), but as some works I assume so. Maybe the ethernet connection has its own whole set of issues with the modem setup. Does IP matter Using a USB TP-Link wifi adapter, I got it to work (its borrowed so not a solution). So my PC is connected to the Wifi via ethernet, AND via wifi. Yes connected twice, looks odd on the connected devices list on the modem. Maybe different TP-link modem connection settings One thing I notice is the Chromecast, Phone, and PC WIFI TP-link connection all have the same 192.168.2.XXX IP. The PC via Ethernet has an 192.168.5.XXX IP. Is it an IP issue Its non changeable so cant test. Thanks.
